Key Biscayne is a tropical area that is
part, in reality, of Miami but, is a
paradise away from the big city.
Biscayne National Park is a protected area
that is home to rare source of aquamarine in
pristine waters, islands with a Caribbean
beauty and fish among its beautiful coral
reefs.
The waters surrounding the islands in
Biscayne National Park are accessible 24
hours per day, all year. Adams Key
(left photo) is only accessible by boat.
Dante Fascell Visitor Center is open from
9am to 5 pm where canoes and Kayaks may be
rented. Camping is permitted on
Elliott and Boca Chita Key but, the grounds
are only accessible by boat. A
$20.00/night fee is charged that includes
docking space (1st come 1st served) and
ground space for two tents.

Biscayne
National Park as well as all of the

Canaveral National Seashore is a natural as
it gets with the National Parks. All
of the beaches are as they have always been
and are undeveloped. No designated
picnic areas, phones, drinking water or
places to buy food are available. A
boardwalk exists with restrooms.
Handicap access is available at the
Playalinda Beach (click
here for Map). Canaveral
National Seashore offers everything one, a
couple or a family would want to do on a
beach. Surfing and horseback riding
(in designated areas) is permitted, camping
(with permit) is allowed on certain islands.
Klondike Beach, which is not accessible by
roads can be visited by food through the
National Seashore. Also offered is a
six mile scenic wildlife drive along the
Canaveral National Seashore. Hiking
trails through the wooded areas of the
Seashore offer unique hiking with wildlife
through four trails: Castle Windy, Turtle
Mound, Eldora Hammock, Palm hammock,
Cruickshank and Oak Hammock Trail.
Cruickshank Trail has a tower where the
marsh can be viewed from above.
Hunting of water fowl is permitted plus boat
docs to launch boats and certain areas
fishing is permitted. Visit the
